Attention parents with children age 10+. I'm thinking of organizing a junior road bike club/race team for 2011. At this point I'm trying to get a feel for the appetite for a junior bike club. If you have a son or daughter who is interested in joining an organized club for cycling and possibly racing, let me know. W...ith enough interest, I'll work to organize a meeting/info session. Back in March, I bought a Cannondale MTB from Belfast Bicycles

A couple of weekends ago, this happened:



I called up Mike and asked him if he thought it might be covered under warranty. He said bring in the bike and he'd check.
About an hour after I dropped it off, he emailed me saying SRAM would be sending a warranty replacement derailleur. Wow!

About 2 hours ago, I picked up my bike from Mike. He'd contacted SRAM, worked out the warranty, installed the derailleur and a new hanger, replaced the cable and a few bent chain links. I asked him what I owed for the repair. He said nothing. Wow!

Sure, I buy some bike stuff online, but it is hard to dispute the value of shopping locally, especially with that level of service.

Cadillac Challenge 2010

For those of you that might have gone through this section at a dizzying speed...

What a great day to be out on the bike. It was great to see so many friends out on the road and meet a few new people as well. Already looking forward to next year, the 20th edition of the Cadillac Challenge!!
