Foam Roller Fun

A foam roller clinic will be hosted by Bill Armstrong at his 39 Main St. facility on February 14th, 6:00 pm.

The keys to longevity and quality of life are nutrition, posture, length, and strength. The use of a foam roller supports the latter 3 - working with movement with the goal of elasticity facilitated with postural core and peripheral strength. For pre workout, recovery, and maintenance, rolling is an efficient and effective method promoting wellness and improving performance potential. (For nutritional guidance par excellence, contact John Bagnulo at bagnulo.com and 338-3514).
"On A Roll" is an instructional clinic in the use of a foam roller from head to toe. Handouts will be provided and the emphasis will be hands on. Participants will leave with theoretical and functional knowledge and skills. Wear comfortable but close fitting clothing; tie long hair up and out of the way. A limited number or rollers will be available for use in the clinic; please bring your own if possible. They may be purchased at Home Supply in Belfast, may be available at Job Lot, also in Belfast, and from Perform Better.com. Purchase the dense dark foam version, not the soft white model.
The clinic will be led by Bill Armstrong of Sports and Orthopedic Massage and Functional Integrated Fitness of Belfast. Bill has been in practice since 1988 and has used the foam roller as an integral tool in facilitating functional movement for hundreds of clients. In addition,he is a life long cyclist, cycle tourist, and time trial rider.
The clinic is free to members of the Belfast Bicycle Club and their guests.
