Steve Conner, Seth Haskell, Dan Winston and myself rode the Tour of the Battenkill on Saturday. 62 miles of pavement/dirt through beautiful farmland. It's a great race, I highly recommend it. Smiling Steve took an excellent fourth place in the cat 4 race.
For his efforts he was rewarded with this handsome portrait of Ulysses S. Grant:
Dan had a top 20 finish and then managed to run 2 miles from the car to the finish line to catch the end of Seth's race. When he got there he was fresh as a daisy:
Afterward we enjoyed a healthy post-race meal of burgers and fries and reveled in our accomplishments. It was a good time all around, until Seth got tired of Steve's bragging and unleashed the Fists of Fury:
Steve is fine, and should recover in time for Turtle Pond. Next year maybe we can get a few more of these jerseys at the race.
Makes me wish I'd gone this year. Nice job guys.
ReplyDeleteYou guys should go to www.cyclingnews.com and check out the pictures of the pros from their race a week later. They are a mess, looks like even if we had the wind and soft roads, they definitely got the worse of it! I hope you go next year Greg, and the same with anyone from the club, it was great fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late, but you guys are awesome!
